The government of Pakistan has successfully evacuated 427 of its citizens who were stranded in Sudan due to the ongoing civil unrest in the region. The repatriation process involved the careful coordination of a government-led emergency plan, which was personally monitored by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The evacuated Pakistanis were being repatriated to Pakistan through special flights and were provided accommodation and food by the government while they awaited their departure.

The Pakistani diplomatic missions, along with other countries in the region, provided support for the evacuation process. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) expressed gratitude to the diplomatic missions of Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Egypt for extending their support in the evacuation of Pakistani nationals. The PMO also thanked Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Minister of State Hina Rabbani Khar, foreign ministry officers, and Pakistan's ambassador in Sudan for their efforts in ensuring the success of the evacuation plan.

The military authorities and other relevant individuals were also praised for their expertise and dutifulness in formulating an effective evacuation plan, which involved multiple challenges and risks. The prime minister expressed gratitude to Air Chief Marshal Zaheed Ahmed Baber Sidhu and Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt General Nadeem Anjum for their special efforts in the evacuation process.

The government authorities evacuated the Pakistani nationals through safe routes and they were moved in small groups from Khartoum to safe locations. The protection of stranded Pakistani nationals in Sudan continues to be monitored, and Pakistan's embassy has established a helpline where the stranded Pakistanis can contact for any help or guidance. This is the second batch of Pakistanis evacuated from the country after an unknown number of Pakistanis left Khartoum in a Saudi Arabian-arranged operation last week.
